Rukin was supposed to be a myth, a story to tell when the fireplace burns down to coals and folk lean in close. It was a joke to explain wanderlust, a quip about where all the dragons went when they disappeared, a name not uttered by the kings and queens for fear that the tales of its power were true. Rukin, the city of Wonders, the city of Judgement. Some say that it was meant to be buried as divine justice from the gods. Others believe it was the work of the Mute Assembly, burned to protect knowledge that shouldn't be known. The one thing it never was: discovered.
