Barrier Range Geographic Location in The Grim Isle | World Anvil

Barrier Range

The Barrier Range provides an impenetrable glut of mountains cutting off Grim City and the eastern end of the Isle from the more wild lands of the Orcs to the west. Thanks to the height of these mountains Grim City and it's surrounding areas enjoy a very mild climate great for agriculture. Where as the climate on the western slopes of the Barrier is much more harsh and unforgiving, a highlight being Crag Valley.   Although the mountains are steep and snow covered there is still an abundance of life here. Many creatures enjoying a more frosty climate can be seen on the slopes and if you look close enough you will find a few Dwarven settlements dotted about on both sides of the range. The mountains are full of various ores of metals and on a dark night you can usually see the plumes from below surface furnaces belching into the night sky. The metals produced are usually exported
