Eden

The Ascended Scholar (a.k.a. Mage of Unity)

Eden, also known by many titles such as the "Ascended Scholar," or "The Mage of Unity," is a god of significant prominence in The Greight Isles. Originating from the land now commonly referred to as Eden's Island, he stands as a beacon of enlightenment, liberty, and arcane knowledge.   Eden's rise from humble beginnings to godhood is a narrative of resilience and the transformative power of knowledge. His life is a testament to the capacity for change and the pursuit of truth, demonstrating the potential that exists within each individual to ascend beyond their initial circumstances.   From his decisive role in the overthrow of Thughash the Bright and the abolishment of slavery, to his invaluable contributions in the realms of magic and diplomacy, Eden's influence has been instrumental in shaping the world of The Greight Isles. His teachings continue to guide the Kaestillian Federation, the dominant power on Eden's Island, inspiring generations to seek enlightenment and freedom.

Age of Ascension

Eden's ascension to godhood came during a time of societal upheaval. The popular uprising on Eden's Island called for the end of slavery, a movement that saw the transformation of the religious leader, Pope Kestall IX, into Thughash the Bright. Eden took up the cause of the people and slayed Thughash, marking the end of the reign of an Old God and solidifying his place as a new deity.   Eden's status as a god was further solidified following a profound conversation with the Linnorm, Korgath the Mighty. This interaction led to the reclamation of Eden's magical power. However, his departure from his home island opened the door for the Elven Empire of Frakkta to invade. A grueling war ensued, from which the locals managed to survive thanks to a strengthened alliance with the northern elf kingdom.   During this time, Eden also made his presence felt on other islands. A visit to Titon's Island nearly ended in disaster as Titon mistook him for an enemy and attacked. Through negotiation and shared understanding, Eden averted conflict. On Bryna's Island, Eden assisted the gifted performer, Bryna, in her ascension to godhood, leaving a lasting legacy on the island's pantheon.

Age of Shifting Powers

Eden's influence during the Age of Shifting Powers extended to Amen's Island. Under his guidance and that of Dalah, Pharaoh Amenmerassetkhert rose to the status of a God King. Eden's guidance also played a pivotal role on Ren's Island, where he helped Ren, a farmer who turned into a heroic figure, ascend to godhood.

Age of Magic

The Age of Magic marked a time of abundant magical innovation for Eden. He developed hundreds of new incantations, some of which have stood the test of time, while others have been lost to history. His magical prowess also extended to agricultural enhancements, as seen on Ren's Island. Eden assisted Ren in performing a series of incantations to bless the island's soil, leading to increased fertility and prosperity.

The Romance of Three and a Half Islands

The Romance of Three and a Half Islands era was a tumultuous period in Eden's history. A betrayal by the Enlightened Dalah led to a prolonged war and significant personal injury. Despite the chaos, Eden played a part in one of the most cunning moves against another god, Titon. Dalah, with the help of Eden, managed to trap Titon in a never-ending battle against himself, demonstrating the potent power and intricate planning of these deities.

Divine Domains

Eden's divine domains are Magic, Knowledge, and Liberation. His association with Magic comes from his extensive exploration of magical incantations and his empowerment of other beings into godhood. Knowledge is another key domain, reflected in his teachings and wisdom shared across the islands. His commitment to Liberation is born from his origins, when he stood with his people against slavery and led a revolution that changed the societal norms of his island.
