The Iron Rose

A skilled blacksmith by the name of Runar, Blood of Vilhjálmsson always wanted to help his sister Rosa in everything she did. His pride as an older brother pushed him to always help and protect her. As she was an Ice Elemental, she would often suffer from early stages of frostbite when she lost control of her elemental magic. Seeing her in pain, he spent years with the help of Druids looking for a way to protect her from getting hurt when loosing control of her magic. After going to the lost library at Tuvaneia, he came across accounts of Druids trying to combining runes and elemental magic into object to enhance their magic. He would return to the Iron Keep and spent months constructing gauntlets to infuse with his earth elemental magic and runes.

Utility

The iron gauntlets are worn to take the blunt force of the magic when a user loses control. While the gauntlets do not fully stop the negative effects, it protects the user from serious injury or death.

Manufacturing

After constructing a gauntlet, a set of runes is engraved onto the gauntlet. Runar then infuses his earth elemental magic into the gauntlet to strengthen it. After that is successful, the user then attempts to infuse theirs. If they are able to then the gauntlet is strengthened to withstand the user loosing control without negative effect to their body.

Social Impact

Originally designed to help his sister, he would complete the gauntlet shortly after her death. He would name his invention after her to honor her memory.
Inventor(s)
Runar, Blood of Vilhjálmsson
Complexity
While the gauntlet nd runes are not complex alone. To infuse his magic along with the users is where things become complicated. Runar would discover that not every elemental has the ability to infuse their magic into items.
Discovery
In the lost library he came across texts telling of how past Druids would use runes to enhance items to strengthen their magic. These stories often told of how these attempts would turn disastrous. He believed that they were unsuccessful due to the fact that these Druids were trying to enhance a power that was not meant to be. His theory was that infusing item to protect a user rather than strengthen would be successful.
