The Eerie Forest
In the northern part of Antauustret is the Eerie Forest. Many travelers have gone missing in this forest since man could remember. Its believed undead creatures make this forest home.
Ecosystem
As with many parts of Antauustret, the ground is grey from the cold of the region.
Ecosystem Cycles
Like the rest of the northern Antauustret, the warmer months are not much warmer. The cold winds from the west are trapped by the Eperom Wall causing the continent to remain cold during most the year. During the winter the frozen coast turns the ground red from the falling of the Kasnos Deru leaves.
Localized Phenomena
In the coldest months of the year the ground turns red from the fallen leaves of the Kasnos Deru.
"When the leaves begin to fall, word passes for the gates to remain closed at night. Town guards begin to accompany the wood cutters during the day and bright fires litter the walls at night." -Tavern Owner at the Iron Keep
Fauna & Flora
The forest is home to all manners of life. Moose, deer, bears and smaller animals can be easily found in the depths of the forest.
Natural Resources
The deep forests and the rituals of the Teuta's fellers offers possible never ending source of timber to the region. Along with the timber, rocky outcrops are home to the Root of Life. This medicinal herb is plentiful in the forest and the surrounding region.
History
In the past the Eerie forest was one of the many unnamed forests on Antauustret. As the Old Gods unleashed their wrath upon the lands, strange creatures began to be seen in the forest. The deaths of local wood cutters gave name to the newly silent forest.
