Lavigne
Built in 26 EM by The Order, Lavigne is a ruined fort that is currently held by the Sons of Frontonce. The fort is located a few miles south of Brighwood River and was constructed there as a deterrent for the Sons to return to Brightwood Forest.
Defences
Many of the walls surrounding the fort are destroyed. While they provide little defense from incoming armies. The Sons are able to quickly escape through the many holes in the walls when they are under attack.
Infrastructure
The fort originally was constructed to house 50,000 troops and a small trade outpost. The fort had four corners towers that stood above the surrounding trees providing an important vantage point to see incoming attacks. Currently only one of those towers remains. From the top the Sons are able to see incoming troops sent by The Order.
Districts
Lavigne
The fort itself is mainly used as a staging area for the forces of the Sons of Frontonce. Forces will often gather here before conducting raids on Saint Guiscard and the surrounding villages. A standing force of 5,000 Bannermen is kept at the fort as a first line of defense when The Order attacks the area.Brighwood Settlements
In the forest surrounding Lavigne, there are dozens of villages and camps that are home to citizens of the former kingdom. These settlements are often unnamed and provide shelter and food to the Bannermen as they travel through the forest.History
15 EM
In 15 EM, The Order sent 25,000 troops to either rid the forest of the Sons or to turn the forest to ash. Over the next sever months the Sons of Frontonce were pushed further and further south from battles and forest fires. Eventually the remaining Sons fled the forest. The Order built the Fort of Lavign to keep watch over the area. Over the next few years, The Order kept a garrison of 25,000 troops at the fort to maintain control of the surrounding area.47 - 48 EM
22 years after The Order cleared the forest, 15,000 thousand coalition troops marched north to retake the forest and establish fortifications on the southern shore of Brighwood River. The army consisted of 10,000 troops from the Nosejo Erwa and 5,000 from the Teuta. Along side the army, thousands of Bannerman of Frontonce gathered in the western part of the forest to attack the Fort of Lavign from the west as the coalition army attacked from the south. The first attack came during the early morning while the guards were switching. Dozens of Bannermen disguised themselves as merchants and infiltrated the fort. Chaos broke out at the Bannermen fought for control for the gate while the coalition forces began their siege. Earth and Ice elementals bombarded the walls as The Order was fighting at the walls and its main gatehouse. While the initial attack was unsuccessful, The Order sustained 4,000 casualties while the coalition forces lost on a few hundred. Over the next year the fort would remain under siege while reinforcements would be held off by guerilla attacks. Finally in the early months of 48 EM, The Order surrendered the fort.
