Brightwood Forest

Located in the central part of Nog Hhreud, Brightwood Forest gained its name from the vibrant trees that have stood for centuries. The forest is home to some of the oldest trees on Nog Hhreud and is one of the ancestral homes of the now Nosejo Erwa.   A once peaceful and beautiful forest has become one of the most constant points of battle in war between The Order and several Elvin Nations.

Ecosystem

The forest is home to a temperate climate that maintains warms summers and cool winters. The forest sees very little in extreme weather and the spring brings an ample amount of rain. With these temperatures the forest constantly grows year round and is home to an abundant amount of wildlife. The western end of the forest turns to a sparse area of coniferous trees as you grow closer to eastern mountain range of Uper Brahru.

History

Unknow - 960 BEM

The ancestors of the current nation of the Nosejo Erwa made their home in Brightwood Forest. For centuries they maintained the forest and provided sacrifices to ensure the forests protection.

15 EM

In 15 BEM, The Order attempted to destroy the Sons of Frontonce that made their home in the forest. Knights set multiple fires that would burn over 40% of the forest over the next month. While the forest eventually recovered, hundreds died and many of the ancient trees of the forest were burned. As word spread of The Orders actions, many Elvin nations began to refer to the area as The Forest of Tears. Many were devastated as an Elvin ancestral home was so easily destroyed.

25 EM

In 25 BEM, The Order sent 25,000 troops to either rid the forest of The Sons or to turn the forest to ash. Over the next sever months the Sons of Frontonce were pushed further and further south from battles and forest fires. Eventually the remaining Sons fled the forest. The Order built the Fort of Lavigne to keep watch over the area.

47 - 48 EM

22 years after The Order cleared the forest, 15,000 thousand coalition troops marched north to retake the forest and establish fortifications on the southern shore of Brighwood River. The army consisted of 10,000 troops from the Nosejo Erwa and 5,000 from the Teuta. Along side the army, thousands of Sons of Frontonce gathered in the western part of the forest to attack the Fort of Lavign from the west as the coalition army attacked from the south.

The Order has faced sever resistance from The Sons within Brightwood Forest. Many efforts have been made to root them out but have been met with thousands dead. In recent years The Order has settled with maintaining a defensive front at Brighwood River, just north of the forest.
