River Cult
A small branch of the more common Nature Cult, with a focus on water deities. Popular in coastal villages.
Tenets of Faith
Such as a river, all in life must follow its course, ever forward, and attempting to stop it is as fruitless as attempting to prevent the current from flowing.
This clashes with some of the greatest wilder taboos against industry and technological development, and has the majority of them greatly conflicted, while the most devout tend to be more tolerant of technology as a result.
Worship
To calm the decennial floods of the Great River, tradition dictates the body (or part of the body) of a true martyr must be sacrificed to the waters.
Small shrines in the form of obelisks are sometimes found along the river shore.
