Atom's Messiah

Born of glowing water  Made in His image  Division with a touch  Atom's Messiah

Summary

When Atom's Holy Cathedral was founded, the Glowing Holy Water was seen as a gift from Atom to his children. The first High Confessor - High Confessor Eve - was given a vision. In her vision, she bathed in the glowing holy water and Atom would appear to her. So, she did. High Confessor Eve was the first to receive Atom's baptism, and while underwater, she saw a glimpse of the future. She saw someone emerging from the glowing holy water with the ability to divide someone with a simple touch.    This person would be Atom's Messiah. A person of divine radiation who will lead the Children of Atom and the world into a new era of peace. Clergy believe Atom's Messiah will be someone vulnerable to manipulation. Thus, while Atom's Messiah can be the one to unite the world, others believe they will break the world. So far, none have emerged from the Glowing Holy Water with the messiah's power of division.

Cultural Reception

The Children of Atom completely believe in the legend of Atom's Messiah. Because the messiah will appear as someone emerging from the Glowing Holy Water, when a follower of atom comes of age, it is celebrated through bathing in the glowing holy water fountain.

In Art

Artwork of Atom's Messiah can be found throughout Atom's Holy Cathedral. Since High Confessor Eve's vision was vague regarding how Atom's Messiah will look like, artists have taken liberty in the depicting the messiah. Some will depict the messiah as a man while others will depict a woman. There are some that believe it is heresy to attempt to depict the messiah. Regardless, all The Children of Atom believe that messiah will appear.
