Arcanum Ward Shard (Upper)

This roughly kite shield shaped shard appears to be a large broken piece of a dragon's scale, though the color and size is unlike any of the dragons that patrol Ashtora. Its color shifts, at times having a golden hue, then suddenly more of a copper shine, then perhaps silver, or maybe bronze. Though it appears broken apart, it never appears to tarnish. The top of this shield is naturally rounded and smooth, while the bottom left and right edges are jagged and blacken at the break, which is the only thing marring its beauty.
This magical shield grants an additional + 1 to Armor Class. While holding this shield, you have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects, and spell attacks have disadvantage against you.
Once a creature of good alignment attunes with this shield, the new bearer may to cast counterspell once per day at 7th level.
Currently the Arcanum Ward resides with the Sovereign of Ashtora and has been past down from ruler to ruler. It is a symbol of the powerbase of the country, and no Sovereign is ever seen without this shield somewhere on their person.
No historians seem to know the origin of the shield, but Sovereigns have been carrying to for hundreds of years as one of the symbols of their office.
