Welcome to the Horned Witch's Realm

THE SOUND OF FOOTSTEPS SPLASHING ARE HEARD TROUGH THE MARSHLANDS, a sole figure shows up in the distance. It has two curved legs and a pair of monkey-like hands, two liltle goatling horns poke attop its seborrheic head and two bat-like ears and a hooked-nose give shape to the overall appearance of this goblin. He, or maybe she, carries a long sitick ended in a circular knot where a net is attached. The little creature laughs and screams like a fool while runs, jumps and makes somersaults, making that a turnip bunch that hangs from its belt to start falling apart.   On the other hand, away from the goblin creature flights a bug, or something much like a bug. Two pairs of wings fan with violence while a bluish glare flares the murky waters beneath the two creatures. The pixie faerie flees quickly, trying to scape the childish cruelty of the dumb goblin. The two keep on this for a while until the little fey gets too tired to maintain the march for any longer time and falls prey of the goblin's net.   The goblin howls and dances with joy and then takes a look at his new favorite thing of it's collection of favorite things. The scared pixie looks at the creature wild eyes and sharp teeth that peek out between its frog lips in a twisted and naive smile. But, soon, the smile disappears as a dark shadow, darker than any other shadow in the marshlands, begins to cover the light of the Everlong Sommar Sun and proyects a figure so well known in those lands that the goblin hardly could not know who is that that stands in front of it. The goblin looks up and its smile disapears. The pixie flies away from her captor's net and in her escapade it's heard a soft laugh to the goblin's fate.   The goblin gulps and lets its tool fall and float into the waters that reaches its calves. A single, slim, fragile and beautiful hand toches the seborrheic head of the foolish creature and pets him like when someone pets a little puppy. Then, the goblin suffers a enormous pain while its overall shape starts to mutate in a new form... A few minutes after that, a horned toad jumps through the marches while croaks whith a mouth full of sharp teeth that could look like a twisted but naive smile. And, in the far, a sole figure of a woman, so slim and beautiful, and with a darker shadow, so much darker than any other shadow in the marshlands, and a pair of horns attop her elegant head, banishes with the mist.

The Setting

This is a homebrew world for D&D 5e set in a demiplane called the Gøblinder created by the Horned Witch, using the energies of her own dreams. It is a place where the power of the Feywild and the Shadowfell join in a unique ecology of mistical creatures and lands. In this world dwells the most wonderfull of the dreams, imaginations and emotions of the witch as well as her worst nightmares, wraths and fears. And while the extension of the land is of just one small continent, the Gøblinder is populated with a vast range of races, cultures, organizations and NPC's that are purposed to make the experience wide and deep for the players.   This setting is designed to work for a sandbox campaign in a world of fairytaleish fantasy where players of all levels can become part of the realm's story, whether they choose to be outsiders invited to this lands by the Horned Witch, or other mighty powers, to solve the mistery of the Oblivion or just to have some good time solving townsfolk problems, whether they are inhabitants of the Gøblinder that are familiarized with the plane's lore, and that have an specific role or goal to play through the hole campaing, this whole land is supposed to offer a vast variety of narrative and gameplay to the groups that dare to enter its domains.   Within the lands of the Gøblinder are entire communities of halflings and dwarfs dedicated to de craftsmith of the most wonderful and dumb magical items, entire cosmopolitan cities with big bazaars where gnomes, kenkus, and even tabaxis work side by side as wizards, clerics and artificers; where the gypsy troupes perform daily for the inhabitants. Where a misterious and almost forgotten nation of wizards dwell silently upon the shadows waiting its moment to awaken powers beyond imagination that could disapear the goblin, elven and waterfolk kingdoms.

A Wicked Realm

Tells the legend that some centuries ago a powerfull eladrin witch named Lilith Moonwhisper, and called the Horned Witch by all the inhabitants of the Material Plane, raised by a green hag and trained by the one and only Baba Yaga, wandered all the realms in search of a solution to an everlasting curse that could erase her memory forever, and also, her magical powers. The powerfull sorceress was known to dedicate her entire life to the arcane arts, to help those creatures that could not fend for themselves or that were at a disadvantage before other creatures or evil forces. She was respected for taking care of orphan children, little fey and good hearted goblins and give them work as servants in her hut.   In her wanderings she found traped in the Shadowfell with no way out of that plane, and keeped wandering until she discoverd a land of pure frost and death. In that place, the Horned Witch found the truth about her inevitable fate. And that truth was the unstoppable withering of her mind and, at the end, body too. The curse had no known counter hex so the destiny of the witch was sealed. While in agony, a dark figure showed up to Lilith, it was the Raven Queen, godess of death and fate, and the Horned Witch tried to bargain with her, but the Raven Queen couldn't find any mercy in her insights because death and fate are unavoidable. Withered and weakend, Lilith claimed in her dreams for help, and dose claims reach to her teacher's ears. So, the ominous Baba Yaga showed up in the Queen's realms.   Baba felt very sorry for the girl that once she considered as her granddaughter and launch a powerful spell on the body of the witch that put her into sleep for everlong as even the Shadowfell could last. In that way, through the dreams of the Horned Witch, the powers of Lilith could preserve even against the will and reach of the allmighty Raven Queen, whose, by now, eternal intentiown would be to end the curse of Baba Yaga and get Lilith Moonwhisper to her ultimate fate.
