The Norisander Military Base, first constructed in 1887, completed in 1901 (May 6th.) (fully, Airport Runway construction began on April 6th, 1919.) saw extensive use by the Villigerish Army, Navy and later, planned but never enacted, Air Force. 
In January, of 1887, with the Villigerish Civil War (1800-1900.) nearly over, the focus of the Villigerish military was on the threat of a Spanish invasion, as such, fortifications in the north began. Sir Charles Abdul Ivanovich the II, saw that a war between their ally, the United States, and their feared and hated new rival (As of the 1880s.), Spain, was imminent in the Caribbean. Construction began in mid August of that year, (August 15th. 1887.), having been a mere two decades and two years since the end of the American Civil War, the Villigerish Army was certainly battered, but not, by any measure, weak. A small force of 5,550 men, with a mere 20 Field Artillery pieces scattered amongst the expeditionary force took Norisander from Nature, prior to this, (August 11th, 1887, Landings at Norisander.), the Isles of Norisander and nearby (though smaller.) Kelpen were entirely uninhabited, save for a brief Spanish Expedition in 1607, where a landing force of 100~ briefly took the islands, however, no permanent Spanish presence would be established, as the expedition withdrew from the isles on the 11th of July, 1607, the landings themselves took place a mere 3 days before. The main reason behind the Spanish decision to take the islands was because they believed it to be the site of nearby Salt Cay. In addition, a brief English presence took control in August of 1599, on the 20th day of that month, leaving on the 21rst after it was deemed unsuitable for an English colony. The next day, a materiel was sent to erect the base of a fortress, along with roads for military fortifications and buildings. It took until the 15th for actual construction to begin. Sir Charles Abdul Ivanovich the II embarked to the site on August 29th, observing their rapid progress. Basic encampments on Southern Norisander were completed on August 28th.
With the threat of a Spanish invasion now seeming more likely than ever, seeing that war between Spain and the United States began in April of 1898, the fortress, now full fledged military base with only minor corrections to be made and a port-bridge to be added connecting Norisander with Kelpen, the Villigerish government authorized the issue of 290 American made 3.2-inch guns (M1897.), along with an additional force of 76,000 men, and 3 Cruisers, the Sakrion, Kenep, and U(u)tria,
