Voor Teleportation Gates
Voor Teleportation Gates are mysterious deep space constructs that once served the Voor as one of the primary ways of interstellar transport in their empire. It is theorized that every gate was capable of connecting to any other gate as the surviving remains of the gates don't create any network pattern. They seem to be located in places which were of strategic importance to the Voor.
If only we could decipher how the Voor Gates worked and reactivate some of them. It would greatly cut travel times.
Inner Workings
The inner workings of the Teleporation Gates are a mystery to the modern species of the galaxy. Despite that many scientists try to figure them out. The most common hypothesis is that the Gates worked by bending spacetime and creating a corridot between the entry and exit gates. Transit time is estimated to have been between 5 and 10 seconds.
Known Teleportation Gates
Currently, 5 gates are known to the member species of the Galactic Federation. Two of them are located inside the territory of the United Republic of Earth and its Colonies. Both gates inside human space are in pretty bad shape. Scans of the structures indicate that they are missing reactors. Those scans also haven't revealed remains of any devices used to create the transit corridor.
According to the current state of research the Teleportation Gates were widely used by anyone in the voor empire. However, it is possible that due to their complexity there were certain limitations on the use. It is almost certain that there was some sort of special traffic control at each gate. Also, some of the recovered voor documents suggest that there might have been some gates which were restricted only to military vessels and vessels carrying country leadership.
The Teleportation Gates are considered one of the most complex technlogies that Humans or any other member species of the Galactic Federation have ever encountered. The best scientists from all over the Federation are trying to figure them out, but are unsuccessful.
