Krawk Species in The Galaxy | World Anvil

Krawk

Raiders and Scavengers

Krawk are humanoid sapient species and enemies of the Galactic Federation. Due to their physical similarity to creatures present in many stories on Earth, Humans often call them Orcs or Space Orcs. Since the first contact Humans have been in a permanent state of war with the Krawk.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Krawk are humanoids. It means that they walk on two legs in an upright positons. They have a pair of hands free to manipulate objects. Their head is more rectangular than a Human's and their lower jaw is moved slightly forward making some of their lower teeth stick out. Most Krawk have green skin and little hair on the head. Most of them put their hair in a bun.

Genetics and Reproduction

Krawk reproduce sexually. Females are capable of becoming pregnant almost all the time and males become very easily aroused and ready for reproduction. One would think that there must be a lot of Krawk babies born and the population numbers should be very high. However, it is on a similar level to Humans. It is caused by the fact, that very rarely more than one child is born. Human scientists speculate that sterility might be more common among the Krawk than among Humans. However, it can't be tested due to the permament state of war.

Culture and Society

Not much is known about Krawk culture and society. What is known comes from secondary sources such as alien merchants, mercenaries or listening posts. Thos sources paint a picture of a society based around scavenging. Almost every piece of their technology seems to have been recovered from alien debris. It is unknown how they were even able to advanve to a level which allowed them to travel in FTL speeds.

Their society seems to be hierarchical. Available information suggests that Krawk are ruled by a council of warlords in which there is one person who oversees all. Despite that there seems to be a lot of fighting between different groups of Krawk.
