Scruddite

Class Tags: #Mechanic, #Mystic, #Druid   A Scruddite is the follower of humanity's newest faith. A Scruddite follows after the example of the legendary hero Scrud, who brought humanity to Nordic Frog Beach and discovered the secrets of the Babel Virus. Every Scruddite is a Babel initiate, able to use supernatural abilities beyond human ken. Scruddites congregate at Scrud's Retreat, a mountaintop fastness where the congregants share survival advice, take on new initiates, experiment with new creations, and meditate on the nature of all reality.   Scrud's philosophy is essentially that you should do whatever you want. Her followers are, by and large, older folk like her who prefer to become a magical hermit rather than to be put out to pasture by their family. Scrud encourages craftiness, cunning, inventiveness, and strength. Scrud's followers are the first ones to descend from their mountain to combat threats to everyone, because you can't do whatever you want if the world is about to end.    Scruddites are rare, for the philosophy of Scrud does not suit most modern people. They usually attract attention when they make themselves known in civilized parts, and the services of a Scruddite are a highly-sought-after thing due to their reputation of competence, intelligence, and brilliance. The only people who do not regularly look forward to the arrival of a Scruddite are the Synths, who are suspicious of Scruddites due to Scrud's mistrust of artificial intelligence.   Individual Role: Scruddites are an extremely varied bunch. Some of them are healers, some of them are beastmasters, some of them are engineers, and some of them are powerful mages. All Scruddites are scrappy, tough, and innovative.   Group Role: Scruddites' role in a group depends greatly on what type of Scruddite they are, but all Scruddites inspire greatness in their companions. Scruddites are usually the first ones to step into danger, and the last ones to leave.   Societal Role: Scruddites exist on the boundaries of modern society. As wilderness survivalists, they don't fit into the urbane utopia of today, though their services are always welcome.   Advanced Scruddite: As Scruddites advance, they gain a variety of magical powers and a great wealth of personal toughness and skill. At high tiers, Scruddites are capable of amazing things that no other human can do.   Scruddite Starting Stat Pools   Might 9   Speed 9   Intellect 10   You get 6 additional points to divide among your stat pools however you wish.   First-Tier Scruddite   Effort Your Effort is 1.   Use What You Got You begin with a Speed Edge of 1 and an Intellect Edge of 1.   Cypher Use You can bear two cyphers at a time.   Weapons You become practiced with light and medium weapons and armor.
