Esmerelda Gonzalez is a teacher and a therapist who operates a small school of psychotherapy in New Alexandria. From Titan Station, she is a strong champion of peace. Over her long career as a mediator and a teacher she has gathered an extensive network of students and mentees, and is well-respected among nearly all groups of people. She is also a Babel initiate, with the power to "see the truth", in addition to telepathy and precognition. She is frequently visited by supplicants who need answers for some problem in her life, and employed by government agencies as a peacebroker and mediator between aggrieved parties.

As a Babel initiate of advanced age and experience, Esmerelda possesses powerful supernatural abilities. She has uncanny prowess in telepathy and precognition. It is said that she possesses the ability to "see the truth". It isn't completely clear what that means, but supplicants still go to her frequently to ask for her guidance, and come away satisfied with her answers more often than not.

Personal history

Esmerelda was born on Titan Station in the Sol System. Like all Titanides, she was given The Babel Virus at birth, and raised in a community that valued personal freedoms and scientific expression over everything. During the Martian Civil War, Titan was spared the devastation that was visited on most of the system due to its remoteness and tactical insignificance. She trained as a psychologist in her 20s and became a therapist for her compatriots.
In her 40s, she emigrated via egocast to Triton, and from there to Nordic Frog Beach. Soon after her arrival, Bleecker's Rebellion occurred and she saw firsthand the violence and destruction that could still occur in a supposedly "utopian" society. 
Thereafter she began her mission: To prevent any such violence from happening again, by raising and training the people to abhor violence, to respect one another, and to create rather than to destroy. Since the end of Bleecker's Rebellion, she has traveled across Nordic Frog Beach to its various settlements, freely teaching classes on empathy, psychology, therapy, and history.
