Ai Hiroko is a scientist, medical doctor, and roboticist from New Alexandria. They are the world's foremost developer of new sleeves. They work constantly, because they believe that their goals are significant enough to require hundreds of years of work. Mx. Ai can be found at different times in their personal laboratory experimenting with new sleeves, in the university teaching classes, in the hospital solving medical problems that the existing doctors don't have the imagination for, or (rarely) performing maintenance on their synthetic shell.

Like all native New Alexandrians, Ai Hiroko has had access to twenty years of free educational materials. They have focused the vast majority of that time - the last twenty years of their life - on medical research. They have an extensive knowledge of genetics, chemistry, cybernetics, neuroscience, and robotics. They have become New Alexandria's foremost developer of new sleeves. They are on the forefront of both biological and synthetic sleeve development, and their research is frequently used as the basis for the work of less-experienced biologists and roboticists.

Employment

They currently work for New Alexandria's largest hospital as a medical consultant, and for the University of Natural Sciences as a part-time professor of genetics. Mx. Ai only works at those organizations for as long as is convenient for them, and they have been known frequently to skip showing up to class or to work when they have especially absorbing research to complete.
