Mind Dragon
"It's easy to lose yourself in a cask of mind dragon. The difficult part is finding yourself again. We never pry into the lives of our customers - if you're mad enough to want to use such things, our advice wouldn't count for much, anyway."Mind dragon (sometimes hyphenated as mind-dragon) is a powerful psychedelic drug that was first created in 453 JR by the Neverwinter Sages' Guild. The drug, which takes the form of a powder, can be produced by a variety of methods, but most involve the use of a specialised refinery with access to high temperatures. The substances required to create the drug can be extracted from a number of rare plants, including the highly-valued eyebright flower, although more common substitutes have been experimented with to varying degrees of successs. Upon ingestion via the throat or nose, or introduction to the bloodstream via a wound, the drug displays a number of effects, including hallucinations, momentary amnesia and (quite often) immediate fainting. A number of side effects have also been observed, particularly when the drug is ingested by a wild-mage, although the drug's illegality in most of the realm prevents most formal testing. Although kept secret from most of the realm, the largest mind dragon refinery can actually be found in the gnomish town of Quiverton, with the town's central forge being used to provide the heat needed for the process. Most of the mind dragon sold in the north of the Sword Coast can be traced back to Quiverton's refinery, and the town relies on the illicit export of the drug to remain prosperous.~ Badger, Townmaster of Quiverton
