Tomb of the cobbler

Long ago, the Deathbell Cough spread across the continent infecting most humanoids and even some animals. Most humanoid empires had been created very recently meaning settlements were fragile and couldn't defend against such a threat. The Surtnir looked upon all the death and felt bad for those who didn't share their scientific advances. A decision was made to find a cure and when the plague was over most of the victims were buried in a large tomb. of course, all bodies couldn't fit inside their own compartment so those who were too damaged and seen as less important were thrown down into a pit below the tomb known as the "cobbler pits".   To keep the bodies from rotting the Surtnir placed a magical item known as the Tuneless Heart into the cobbler pits so it could provide the bodies with enough life force to stay in the same form without reviving them.
