The old mill

The old mill is one of few buildings from before the collapse in the falling city. As the name might suggest, the old mill started its days as just that, the village mill. Working tirelessly to grind flour out of all types of grain with the power of the wind. As time went on, the surrounding villages started working more and more together, and the mill was past its usefulness as other mills started doing its job for it. Instead, it got used as storage, filling up the plentiful space previously reserved for flour with all types of knickknacks. It was in this storage space a young girl started tinkering, making small toys in her spare time not helping out at the farms. Using this knowledge later in life, she became one of the first mechanics of the village and started up a shop in the old mill. The workshop kept going for many years, building and repairing machines of all kinds from the nearby villages and eventually even cities. When the world started collapsing, the old mill was slowly built into a power generator utilizing the previous mill. The increased demands of the shop and the cramped space left after the generator was installed lead to a new workshop being constructed, and the old mill was once again empty save for the occasional mechanic overlooking the power generator. With the city expanding around it, the old mill got its newest task. The cramped and warm spaces in it turned out to be a perfect spot for carrier lizards to have their nests, and the relatively small space needed for the carers and letters lent to space perfectly. The old mill is now one of the largest carrier lizard stations and one of only a few housing breeding pairs who need the extra heat to care for the young.
