The High City

"Opening your windows around here is like opening floodgates. Even if the streets were somehow to go empty, and the steady chiming of elevators ceased, the omnipresent sound of rustling leaves and pattering fountains never goes away. Everything's bright up here too; all that water and glass catch the sun's light and spread it over everything, and the denizens cover every surface with gaudy neons and pastels. Even the endless concrete seems somehow less oppressive. I can see why so many Citizens break their backs to live here."
-Leul, itinerant explorer
