The Endless War on Infinite Plains

Azathoth, the sleeping god of countless realities, lays dormant. Comatose after a war, he dreams of worlds and existential planes within and beyond our comprehension. There only one thing that is constant in all realities; a war.   This war is fought in every layer of reality, against every organism and micro-organism who was blessed with the curse of knowledge of their god. This is a supernatural ailment known as The Enlightenment. The ability to be hyper-aware of the reality around them and possess the knowledge that they exist within his dreams and that when he wakes up; they won't.   On one side are "The Aware". The Awareness is a consensus that will forever maintain the survival of their reality and ensure Azathoth stays asleep.   On another are "The Tainted". The Tainted wish to awake Azathoth and end their false reality. The reasons for doing so are variable to some believing the reality around them is fake and the only meaningful decision one could make is by ending it. Others see Azathoth itself in superstitious awe, praise him as God and through waking him believe they can achieve ascension to existence beyond comprehension.   The war is everywhere. In every planet, every realm and even to a microscopic level. It will exist anywhere and everywhere, even right now, in your world, in your dreams, in the back of your mind.
