The Kingdom of Torvahl

"I've seen the magic cities of Kalava'khir, seen Daeamorant's impressive military, traversed the snows and mountains of Moragh and even the uncharted jungles in the southwest. But Torvahl... Torvahl is something special." - Nethuryn the Wanderer

Characters with any of the following traits would know this information:   Background: Lived in Torvahl for longer than a year   --------------     Torvahl is arguably the most diverse country on the continent. Positioned in the center of the four other major countries, it's home to almost every species of humanoid and otherwise, as it largely maintains open immigration and tries to maintain peaceful relations with the other countries. That said, it has an exception for Kalava'kir, which it is perpetually at odds with.   The capital of Torvahl is the city of Torvahlis, in which its ruler, King Lorvahn, oversees the country. Queen Ellia'lorel ruled alongside her king until her capture by The Crimson Legion six years ago, and she is presumed dead by most of the population. Torvahlis is the largest and most culturally diverse city in the country, but each major city in Torvahl serves a functional purpose for the country as a whole.   A somewhat unusual trait of the country is that in addition to the kingdom itself, there are two almost independent sub-kingdoms within the country. These are the great Elven city of Alea'thesai, and the Dwarven mountain city of Dorak'heim. While not entirely independent and still ultimately answering to the king, both of these cities are vast and rival (some even claim exceed) Torvahlis in size, and both have rich cultures isolated from that of Torvahl as a whole. This results in a very diverse mix of customs and behaviors across the country at large, with individuals often showcasing traditions and values corresponding to whichever of the three major cities they live nearest to rather than a homogeneous "Torvahlan" culture.
