The Red Lane

Demographics

The Red Lane is mostly populated by prostitutes and their pimps or madams. While an overwhelming majority of them are vampires through the Nosferatu Boys, other species use the strip for prostitution as well.

History

The Red Lane is a half-mile road that runs behind the industrial district and is lined with special street lights that run from midnight to 3am. It was first founded by the Nosferatu Boys after their initial expansion into Old Town. Initially, it was their main source of revenue and a covert way of turning humans so that they could more easily dominate the space in the neighborhood. However, over time, it became another covert business just like Fanging at their nightclubs. The overwhelming amount of revenue made from both tourists and sleazy residents brought about a meeting from the other gangs about splitting costs and getting their slice of the lucrative pie. After a year of having the Red Lane to themselves, the Nosferatu Boys agreed to allow outside species to use the lane as long as they contributed seventy percent of their earnings to the local Heavyblood, Konstantin. As the years passed, the Red Lane filled with more variety and brought about enough money to have the APD investigate.   Unfortunately, the investigation was simply a cover for the corrupt Supreme Anderson to shake local pimps and madams for a percentage to keep the Black Shields and prying police from breaking up the business. To this day, corrupt figures in power and the gangs that run Old Town all seem to agree that the Red Lane is good for business and a bad idea to disrupt.

Tourism

A large chunk of Johns who visit the Red Lane are tourists or people from out of town who want to have sex with a fantasy creature of their dreams. For this reason, the Red Lane is subtly advertised throughout Old Town for those who know what to look for, reeling in a great deal of money that rivals income of The Bloody Clovers.
