The Durat Cluster

In 304 C.A.F.C., the Durat Cluster United Systems was formed. Originally it consisted of only 3 species, 29 factions, and 108 inhabited planets. This number grew rapidly as new innovations in spaceflight and communications were created, and soon a booming economy was created. Two hundred years later the Te’err Collective, a larger, older, and more advanced galactic alliance contacted the DCUS and created a golden age for the cluster. In its prime, it consisted of 304 species, 1207, and over 1600 inhabited planets. Now, precisely 1296 cycles after its creation, the DCUS is a dying echo of its former self. Wars have ravaged many of the planets, and due to a combination of political, technological, and economic blunders, the cluster has been embargoed from the Te’err Collective’s until a time where “a more matured and resilient alliance is in control.” This, in combination with the Durat Cluster’s position at the edge of the galaxy has put the area on the verge of financial collapse. Now the most powerful factions in the cluster break laws set in place centuries ago to gain complete control of the Durat Cluster in the hopes of restoring trade relations with the rest of the galaxy, and billions feel the sting of the conflicts. If the wars continue without regard to the DCUS’s wartime protocol, Te’err may not allow the cluster to be autonomous simply due to lack of population.
