The Dragon Empire

Monsters and dragons, rulers and commoners: desperately disparate in goals and motivations, with cultures spanning from the magical to the primal. Separated by vast and yawning stretches of land and water, or even just the barrier of language. This world is eclectic. It is full of the greatest evil brimming in every hellhole, the greatest good in the Holy City, and the greatest indifference one can imagine in everyday life to these grand schemes.   As the greater gods slip from the minds of the every day mortal, icons take their place. Some are vessels for those same old gods, others are their own agents. But they meddle as they see fit. Are just as corruptible and infallible as the mortals they have been elevated above.   It is when those very same icons fail or succeed in whatever their great machinations may be that the ages will move forward anew, and more icons will rise to be.
