Merchant's Guild /G\

Not to be confused with the Trader's Guild.

Structure

Head Merchant - The Head Merchant is in charge of everything relating to the Merchants Guild.   Vice Merchant - The Vice Merchant, often called just 'the Vice', is the second in command of the Merchants Guild.   Gold Accountant - The Gold Accountant is responsible for final account records and ensuring their accounts are within the margin of error. They pay the taxes to states and the federal government, and the building fees for the markets.   Silver Accountant - The Silver Accountant is the second accountant and is responsible for checking the Bronze Accountant's work. They have what is considered to be the easiest job in the guild. If the Bronze accountant's work is incorrect or doesn't match what they recorded they simply hand it back down to them. If it is correct, they hand it upwards to the Gold Accountant.   Bronze Accountant - The Bronze Accountant is the first accountant to check that the guild's finances are in order. If the books are outside the margin of error, they will go through them again in more detail. If any vendors are found skimming the guild's bank or skirting their fees they will be kicked out of the guild.   Booth Vendor - Booth vendors are vendors who have earned enough reputation to move into a permanent booth as long as they pay their booth fees. They are allowed to have no more than 1 booth per market and no more than 5 booths in each state. Where a vendor is located depends on its reputation and how much they are willing to pay for a booth. Booths in a highly populated city will cost more than booths 30 minutes outside a small town. Having a booth at the front or near an entrance to a market will cost a lot more than a booth towards the back or near an exit.   Stall Vendor - Stall vendors are a step above street vendors. They are allowed temporary stalls at certain markets to sell their wares. This is considered the best position for hobby sellers as the temporary stall is significantly cheaper than a full-time booth in regards to fees.   Street Vendor - Street vendors are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to vendors. They are typically either just starting out or have terrible products and are unable to afford to move on to the next ranks. Street vendors typically sell behind an actual Merchant's event and on the streets.

History

The Merchants Guild was formed after the collapse of the United States during the Red Flu. After the United States recovery, they were made obsolete, but people liked to join just for fun.   When the United States collapsed once more to the T virus, the Merchants Guild rose again. In the world after its collapse, they have found a renewed market and need for their wares since corporate organizations no longer exist.
