Jötunn

Summary

The Jötunn, as Tormund Taylor has named it, is a hellish creature that lurks within the @Wolfswoods surrounding their home. Often mistaken for a tree or moose from a distance the Jötunn is a predatory beast that craves human flesh to no end. They lurk and hunt by the use of stealth to mask their presence until a person is within striking distance.

Historical Basis

Despite the naming of the Jötunn, there are no known ties about it to Nordish history. It was simple Tormund's nordic ancestry that causes him to give the creature a Nordish name. Nothing of their history is known about the Jötunns and it can be presumed it will very much stay that way for some time. After some point in time, the Jötunn learned to avoid the areas visited often by Costia Griffin and Alex Daddario Taylor as the two were capable of grievously injuring and even killing a Jötunn.

Spread

Knowledge of the Jötunn is limited and only barely known by family members and friends of Costia Griffin. The spread of their existence has been restricted due to the fear of increasing the Jötunn's power and abilities. Outside of those people who knew the Jötunn to be true beings, they are considered another myth to try and keep people out of their forests.

Variations & Mutation

There are no variations of the myth of the Jötunn. but there are variations and slight differences in the physical forms of the Jötunn as there are multiple Jötunn living within the forest.

In Art

Some of Alex Daddario Taylor's more hellish paintings depict the Jötunn lurking, hiding, and eating people within the forests. However, she rarely lets anyone view these paintings as she considers them cursed and haunted.
