Extra-planar Blood

The blood of extra-planar beings is the only known subsistence that can power   inventions . One of the final steps in inventing is making the invention work through magic. The extra-planar blood running through the inventor's veins reacts with the magic that they cast, giving the invention the power it needs to function. Every invention needs to be fed magic this way in order to work. Depending on the skill of the caster, the invention might need to be filled with magic again periodically. This is one of the reasons why most people can't invent and why inventions are so rare.

Blood from densins of the ring and is even warmer to the touch than normal blood while those from fei is cool.

Origin & Source

All extra-planar beings carry extra-planar blood through their veins except for elementals. Those who are closely related to extra-planar beings like cambions , nephilim , and elves have extra-planar blood too. Despite having a slightly golden tint and being warmer than most people's blood, Aasimar's and tieflings' blood is too diluted to have the same effects as extra-planar blood.

Life & Expiration

After the blood leaves the extra-planar being's veins or if the being dies , the blood quickly looses its potency. While some people have experimented with extra-planar blood that's not in their veins to try to power inventions, these experiments have seen no success or progress.

History & Usage

Cultural Significance and Usage

Those with extra-planar blood are highly valued on the Disputed Plane as there are very few of them. This is part of the reason that the elves were able to take over Zhaliya. Sovereignties compete heavily to gain the services of an extra-planar inventor. Worshipers of quasi-deities very rarely use extra-planar blood in their rituals, usually as a holy object.

Refinement

While all extra-planar beings have extra-planar blood, not all of them can use it. A being must be able to cast the magic necessary, as well as have extra-planar blood to be able to power inventions.
