Arme (Ar-meh)
Arme is a name earning tradition for the {Plains} Dragon blessed. Name earning rituals are common in the plains and mountains of the Dragon lands. The ritual symbolizes that a young dragon blessed is likely to survive enough that they deserve a proper name. After the ritual is completed, their child name will be given up and a new name will be chosen by their Draconic Cults.
History
The practice of Arme likely dates back to the early days of chaos following the fall of the The Draconic Empire. It is a ritual that largely serves the dragon blessed, despite its religious connotations. It is highly unlikely this practice would've had a place in the Empire.
As the range of biiv plants necessary for the ritual has shifted, the ritual has become more difficult to complete. The age at which dragon blessed complete the ritual has also shifted slightly as times get more desperate. While it was once completed between the ages of 6 and 8, it is now completed between the ages of 9 and 12.
Execution
The ritual has four parts. The first is a ceremony performed by the dragon blessed's parents and a priest. This ceremony recognizes that they have made it to this age, and includes instructions for the Quest. It also removes the childhood name. The young dragon blessed will be nameless for the duration of the rest of the Quest and Creation.
The second phase is the Quest, which begins immediately after the first Ceremony. The young dragon blessed leaves the village or group in search of a blooming Biiv plant. In recent years, the range of the Biiv plant has shifted into the mountains, creating further danger of conflict with mountainous dragon blessed or even Keepers of End Mountain. If the dragon blessed is able to find a blooming Biiv plant, they must return to the area their Quest started to begin the Creation.
The Creation takes place within eyesight of the village, camp, or group, but not in it. The dragon blessed prepares the Biiv flower in a particular way. If they are successful, they return to the village temple for the second ceremony.
The second Ceremony only involves the dragon blessed and a cultist. This cannot be the same cultist who performed the first Ceremony. The cultist will consume the prepared Biiv bloom, and judge the dragon blessed. If the dragon blessed is judged to earn it, they will be given their new name.
Components and tools
The most important components are the Biiv bloom and the tools needed to prepare it. Successful dragon blessed also carry a number of supplies and weapons needed to survive their Quest.
