The Broken Battleground

The broken battleground is a myth surrounding the supposed battleground where the first war between the members of the broken hierarchy took place. Supposedly, the first war fought between Eteus (God of Life), Zygen (Goddess of the Moon), Unos (God of Torture), Zedite(Goddess of Law) and Axnir (God of Dreams), took place upon the Uthnar mountain, apparently proven by the unnaturally flattened ground at the peak, as well as the crimson Cashire vines growing in oddly specific patches, as if blood of the gods had spilled upon the dirt.   The myth describes the first war and how Eteus, Zedite, Zygen and Axnir had banished Unos to the broken mire realm, signifying the beginning of the hierarchies failure. Depending on the account, this myth allows great insight into the thoughts, feelings and cultural practices of several of the Diminishing Haven's inhabitants, as well as the oldest accounts speaking of the gods as though they walked the earth, and almost as though those writing had been drafted into the war of the gods themselves. This provides to many modern day civilisations the ability to study and understand their ancestors and their actions, as well as explain certain aspects of the modern day haven.   Different religious groups also have different versions of this event, with the more modern ones claiming to have spoken to the gods and had a first person recount, and the older ones owning tomes supposedly written by the gods they worship themselves.   Depending on the deities they worship, different religious groups show different feelings on the outcomes of the first war, with worshippers of Unos believing their god to have been betrayed and backstabbed by his siblings, creating a notoriously tense atmosphere between them and the religious groups who worship the other gods of the broken hierarchies first line.   These differences impact the retelling of the war greatly, with some religious groups even denying it ever existed, due to the implausibility of the gods going to war on a mortal-realm mountain.
