Rudmouth
Rudmouth is an old port city located on the mouth of the Red River. It was a well populated settlement that thrived on its natural resources and convenient location along main shipping routes until two decades ago, when the mining industry quite literally collapsed. Though nothing was ever definitively proven, it was widely assumed that erosion and antiquated technology facilitated the cataclysmic cave-in of the red clay mine. The tragedy took the lives—and livelihoods—of scores of minors and caused the section of Rudmouth above it to crumble into the sea.
Wydshore District
Wydshore was the city centre of Rudmouth before half the district was lost to the sea in the mine collapse. What remains is a flooded ruin of mouldering wealth and decaying infrastructure. Declared unsafe and left largely abandoned, the district now houses a desperate smattering of petty criminals, opportunists, fugitives, and the destitute, among other factions only whispered about. Over time, Wydshore came to be known more commonly as the Stilts, after those who once patrolled and looted it from atop metal stilts designed to keep them above the rancid floodwaters. Few lawfolk and fewer politicians pay much mind to events in the Stilts, preferring to leave the drowned district to its slow, inevitable end.
