Prologue

Alluin was born in Seians, the capital of Dae. His father and mother were brilliant inventors and revered in their society. It was only natural that Alluin would follow in their footsteps, as is the normal way with the Daesan. Showing an aptitude for all things mechanical he went to the Institute of Technology but found it lacking. He nevertheless finished, first of his class and his invention was the prototype for the Valsanir, a crude automaton that required manual input to move but could be used for heavy duties like lifting and building. He called it Rubicund. He became quite famous across Dae and was approached to be a part of the Council. He rejected the offer, opting to teach at the Institute instead.

The Irruption Wars

He was still teaching at the Institute when The Irruption Wars begun. Dae was allies with Aurelia and so they send a contingent to fight alongside the rest of Aell. Alluin build combat versions of his prototype, something he was reluctant to do so far, and gave them to the soldiers in the frontlines. It was still not enough and Dae suffered heavy defeats. Alluin then begun working on an improved version, which he called Vijar. This version was considerably bigger and could be operated from the inside, worn like a suit of armor. It was very powerful and looked extremely promising. However, after the initial failures, not a lot of Daesan were anxious to try it out, so Alluin took that task himself.

Pot & Kettle

As he begun proving himself and helping the armies of Aell greatly, it was inevitable that he would be send to the frontlines. During a skirmish, he saved Jokaster and her Seekers from certain defeat. It was then that all historians agree that the couple met and fell in love. Jokaster brought him to Nathan Whytelaw and he was asked to make more suits of armor, as many as possible. With the help of Jokaster, Alluin built several versions of his early creation, the Rubicund. He build them with the ability to be controlled by the Seekers, using a prototype that would later become the Sihkern. And thus Erbium, a new group of mechanical warriors was formed and it was then that the war begun to tip in favor of Aell. Despite his protests, Nathan placed Alluin in charge of Erbium alongside Jokaster. While Alluin's name is often not included with the Grand Five, he is considered an integral part of the war effort. He did however stay in the sidelines after the end of the war.

Reinventing the Soul

His exploits during the war and his encounters with new races and creatures gave Alluin the idea for further developing Sihkern. A mechanical core, imbued with magic it allowed him to build complex devices that required no input from outside forces. Jokaster was key in helping him with figuring out the magic spells required for such an invention. Soon Alluin discovered that many of his creations had developed a mind of their own. He found that he could train them, educate them and they would perform simple tasks. Amazed by his creation, he dubbed them Valsanir and begun making more. Soon a whole new race had been created, used as servants for the people of Dae. After some time, Alluin started to become uneasy with the treatment of the Valsanir and together with Jokaster created The Academy, hoping to educate both parties. He continued to strive for their development until his death.
