Before the formation of the Firebird's Flock, the members were aware of each other, having worked with each other in the past or at least have heard of each other's exploits. But for the most part, they were all unassociated. The world of piracy in Delta Space is surprisingly inclusive, with many different crews working together whenever they are in each other's region.
Each of the twelve or so future members of the Flock have been involved in piracy or revolutionary causes in some form or the other for many years collectively. Many of them even captain their own crews and ships, most of which have been in operation for numerous years and are each of some acclaim and great experience in the world of piracy.
What eventually brought them all together as the Firebird's Flock was their shared belief in the goals of
Amaeria "Firebird" Ozark, a well-known pirate and revolutionary in The Delta Space. The Firebird's, and by associate her Flock, goals are to rid the galaxy of the reign of any regime, business or government, that oppresses their citizens, clients, employees, or anyone affected by their dealings. A common enemy of the Firebird, and her Flock, are the MegaCorpos, a collection of the top business corporations in the galaxy, who each commonly abuse their power and control over multiple industries for their own gains. And another being The Imperial Council of Planets, a strict militaristic regime that has forcibly taken over control over several regions and dozens of planets.
The Firebird's Flock follows any command or mission given to them by Amaeria Ozark, and most of them can be found in her direct entourage, either directly by her side on her ship, or commanding separate ships that each fly alongside her own. Though the Firebird often sends members of her Flock away on missions of high importance, ones where she only trusts her closest allies to thoroughly and/or effectively complete on her behalf. These missions are often on the more extreme side and are typically in line with the Firebird's revolutionary goals.
Also, the Firebird's Flock have each decided, separately and collectively, that the protection and lasting safety of Amaeria Ozark are of the utmost importance. They have each sworn themselves to protect her with their lives and will drop anything they are doing regardless of the situation in order to come to her aid. And for the most part, in the years they have been active, they have been successful at this. Though the one time they failed in this, it had catastrophic consequences.
The Incarceration of The Firebird and Efforts to Free Her
Unfortunately, the worst has come to pass, and Amaeria Ozark was captured and imprisoned by the I.P.F at their infamous prison the
NX7 High-Risk Security and Correctional Station. Firebird's arrest took place on the outer regions of space while she was trying to lie low after a job, as such she had a limited entourage, and only one of the Flock's members was accompanying her, who died in the firefight proceeding the capture.
Firebird's Flock immediately began planning for a rescue attempt and have spent months investigating and planning her rescue. Unfortunately for the Flock, NX7 is one of the most secure prisons in The Delta Space and even its location is a guarded secret. Some believe that it is locked near a black hole, which conveniently masks its presence on radar and provides a handy defence against those that fly too close to it without proper coordinates. Due to all of this, the Flock's efforts have stalled, and they are scrambling to find any information on the location of the prison, details on its defence capabilities, and any info on its layout.
