Grippers are large canine carnivores, living in the northern band of the Cylinder. Although they tend to avoid populated areas, they are well-known by Nordic travellers, who often find themselves facing them.   Gripper are often mistaken for Wolves by inexperienced travellers. However, the Gripper is usually quite larger than the common wolf, has a white pelt, and is a loner: The only moment when grippers may not attack one another on sight is during the mating season at the end of Summer.
