The Cygnus Galaxy

In the vast ocean of galaxies in the universe, Cygnus shines in a tenuous light. home to many sentient species and civilizations, this galaxy has lived in a state of peace for more than 1500 years.   Cygnus is a place of bustling planets, some of which being the product of terraforming, whilst others had the luck of being inhabitable by its denizens. whatever the case, the advent of space (and later, Drift) travel made for organized systems, the biggest of these known as the Organized Galactic Races (OGR), which rules peacefully from a vast system wide sphere.   However, not everyone agrees to enter the fold of the OGR, and there are several war-mongering factions which seek to undermine or downright annihilate this peaceful alliance.   What makes this setting unique? The variance of races (and their culture) as well as the difficult political situation among the factions lends itself to making this setting more focused on the roleplaying than on the combat.   The setting is intended to be for a personal campaign, and the intent is for the setting to feel like a futuristic cyberpunk world, but not entirely dystopian. I wish for it to have a balance between hopeful ideals and drab reality.
