The Gilden Cage Vehicle in The Crucible | World Anvil

The Gilden Cage

One of many Prison Ships owned by Sun Spire, these travel the Void on contract to various governments and police forces to ferry criminals and undesirables to dedicated prison cities or for lesser offences to the colonies as indentured labourers.   The Gilden Cage is a typical example of the class, it is reasonably well maintained with only a few patches of rust around the engines. The interior is a cramped space with low ceilings, the cells are arranged in grids, each cell measuring 3 metres by 2 metres and enclosed on all sides by iron bars, you can see down the length and breadth of the prison space which helps with patrolling guards. Movement of the prisoners is facilitated by large doors on either side of the hull that open to allow the prisoners to leave en-masse.   The main route taken by this ship is collecting them from Refuge and depositing them on Feanor or Daxu as labourers, as such the guards understand that these are lesser criminals and are not overly harsh.
