Ansas the Dark

Lord (at one time Duke) Ansas Urial Oblin Dava

Ansas the Dark is feared by many. He seeks evidence of the lost city of Lurr, and will pursue it by every means he can. He is convinced that there he will find a treatment for Shimerscale a condition he has recently begun to experience. He long ago suffered The Plague of Silmora and acts out the frustration that it took him five years to overcome that disease. A clear sociopath, he desires his own comfort over the lives of others.   He runs The Grasping Vine as an organization that hunts beasts, funds expeditions for salvage and trades in artifacts and antiquities. Most recently he has acquired two objects of significance. The Map of Blass Overa Booth and the Staff of the Squid.   He is attended constantly by two devoted servants, Yora and Roun. His business manger, Kwin, has taken over most of the day to day operations of the Grasping Vine.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

He was born the son of a duke who was deposed duringĀ The Plague of Silmora, so for many years he carried the title of Duke in Exile. More recently he was titled with a new lordship that is not dependent on his lineage and historical holdings.   Ansas most certainly had a tough life, and has become hard and bitter. Having participated in two wars, been betrayed by three wives, and raising two sons as if they were his own until finding out he was sterile from the the plague and they were other mens children. His trust is thin, and his cruelty well known. However his effectiveness, magical prowess and discretion make it hard to bring him up on charges.
