Personal history
Born to the standard of "well-to-do" considered in Fuyao BeiMei, Mitch was born the only child to parents who had climbed up from factory worker to more specialized positions. His mother was a manager for the automobile glass production line, while his father was a maintenance technician for the machinery found around the factory and for some of the civic machinery around the nation.
Mitch found himself in trouble a lot at school because he had the bad habit of speaking out of turn, particularly to prove he was smart. To his teacher's chagrin, he was actually brilliant, and by the time he was a teenager several teachers had noted he should take on a apprenticeship in the research and development labs. He was of a select few that were set aside and trained in that program, and only one of a couple of students that were not connected to more elite families. Mitch has confessed to others that this was the time of his life where he learned to "shut my hole and listen a little".
While most of the students competed for tops spots with physics development, Mitch instead found chemistry fascinating. Over time he picked up the concepts and excelled with his given tasks, lessons and analysis. Almost the top student in that field, he was able to choose which department he would focus on for research and development. He chose aerospace design, just in time to begin the research for the glass commissioned by Virgin Galactic's new project: an independent space station outside of traditional nation touch.
