Brand Chips
Researched by eccentric tinkerer Isaac Hogue, he was hired by the Brown Estate to investigate subtle ways to subjugate their slave population. Being close to the TrumpLand border, they wanted to be able to have any Trapper be able to track down slaves that would escape to the United States. With that, Hogue reached out to a contact connected to GLONASS. Hogue never revealed who the contact is, let alone how he convinced to have his invention connected to the GPS technology established. Nevertheless, the Brand Chip was made successful due to this link up with the satellite system.
After testing was complete in 2134, the Brown Estate kept the technology to themselves, eluding their slaves and their fellow owners as to the high reclamation rate of any escapee. After one ornery field worker was constantly running and causing a nuisance, Hogue was asked to update the design. By 2139 the predictable addition of an electrical current to shock disobedient slave had been added. The design required a deeper installation of the device near the base of the spine, which maximizes the pain administered.

Utility
Primarily, Brand Chips have been used to track down an individual using a GPS signal emanating from the chip. Each chip has a unique address linked to it, helping differentiate it in case more than one escapee/slave is found.
The device has only currently been found inside escaped slaves from TrumpLand.

Manufacturing
Hogue established a secretive and well guarded factory on the Brown Plantation. Currently it's observed to have a work force of 15 slaves, with two overseers and eight guards. Very few know about the entire process.
Access & Availability
Currently for sale, but extremely expensive and limited supply. The Brown Estate are currently the only producers.
Complexity
Originally using the already existing technology of GPS tracking and sub-dermal implants, later development includes a electrocution shock point.
Discovery
Tested over a couple short cold months, Hogue used slaves from the Brown Estate in order to see if the tracking program worked.
