The Connection perpetually leads the way between worlds. The Connection is a cult consisting of principal characters who exist in many places and in many ways, and the Connection is also the collection of all of their stories.

The setting of the genesis story was 1960s California, but wrong. Cults make for dangerous families, and everyone has a masochistic streak.

The principal cast has become their own context. They are loved so deeply that nothing exists without them, so they now manifest as the four playable classes.

the leader
The Magician. Armed with an alien soul and the most powerful magic (that they know of), they promise to leads their flock toward their brighter future.
the queen
The Empress. A beautiful human who will mother the first alien-human hybrid. They're deeply involved with the Leader, but the Leader must acquiesce to the future.
the acolyte
The Fool. Once you've proven yourself in the eyes of the Leader and Queen, you've earned the right to participate in rituals and grow their magical talents.
the cultist
Fresh recruits new to the Connection who have yet to prove themselves.

The Connection consists of many universes with each of the characters in different contexts. Each story is self-contained and part of a greater whole. It's a world with unusual universes, aliens that can crawl through time and souls, and the slow and steady knot that is interconnected lives coming in contact with each other.
