Twenty-Secondborn - Scaled Servants

A nickname the other races will never let down for the poor Twenty-Secondborn. The Borns are snake-like individuals with their formation of scales, where the extremities are rough while their middle and face is smooth. They also have reptilian eyes, claws, and fangs like that of a viper though they lack any seriously deadly toxin, though can certainly have it's own effects. They still grow hair on their head though the rest of their body is hairless. They typically range in size and weight of a normal being.   Pureblood
  • +1 Constitution +1 Dexterity
  • Viper's Sting: A pureblood certainly has the ability to use their fangs and the venom held within them. To use their fangs they require to have a means of exposing their face to take a bite. This is a dexterity based attack which they are proficient in. The damage from the fangs piercing is (Proficiency Modifier)d4 + (Dexterity Modifier). However the venom within the fangs has a DC of ((Constitution Modifier + Proficiency Modifier)x2) if the target fails they take (Proficiency Modifier/2)d8 poison damage for (Proficiency Modifier)d4 turns. If they succeed they take half damage for half the amount of turns but suffer no additional effect. The same DC can be used when doing a medicine or alchemy check to remove the effect with a healer or alchemy kit. The additional effect of the venom can either be either a reduction of the targets saving throws by the pureblood's proficiency modifier while the venom is in effect or a reduction of the creature's movement by (Proficiency Modifier) time five feet while the venom is in effect. This attack can be made (Proficiency Modifier) times before needing a short rest to restore the venom within their fangs.
  • Smooth Joints: While they of course do not possess the true form of a snake a pureblood is certainly limber like one. Whenever someone is attempting to grapple them they can replace their strength with their dexterity, as well as adding their proficiency modifier on top of all other modifiers when escaping any binding as well as acrobatic checks.
  Halfblood
  • +1 Dexterity
  • Shredding Scales: While not nearly as limber as their pureblood counterparts halfbloods have far rougher and far more dangerous scales. As a bonus action in conjunction with a melee attack a halfblood can use the scales on their limbs to scrape their opponent. The creature must make a constitution saving throw against a DC of (Constitution Modifier + Dexterity Modifier + Proficiency Modifier) or suffer (Proficiency Modifier)d6 + (Dexterity Modifier) bleed damage for (Proficiency Modifier)d4 turns. If they succeed they take half damage for half the turns, this effect ends if they are healed or against the same DC a medicine check with a healer's kit. This can be used (Constitution Modifier or Dexterity Modifier + Proficiency Modifier) times before needing a long rest as the scales have fallen out or have become dull.
  • Sensitive Skin: A rather sensitive skin lays beneath the scales of the halfblood. Changes in air pressure, humidity, or temperature are much more noticeable for a halfblood. For these sensitivities a halfblood can focus on these feelings for (Proficiency Modifier)d6 minutes at a time and adds their proficiency modifier to their perception and passive perception as well as the ability to use dexterity instead of wisdom. This ability can be used ((Proficiency Modifier + Dexterity Modifier/2) times before needing a long rest.
