Daego von Kolom
Daego von Kolom is a human scientist, explorer, diplomat and starship pilot, who currently serves as Lieutenant in the Rebellion.
Daego was born in Yaith, in the city of Yokka, to a family of droid mechanics. He grew up fixing ships from the empire, as his only source of income, where he learned a lot about astromechanical engineering and flight mechanics. Often, he could be seen fixing the overengineered communications arrays of empire vessels, as well as overheated guns and their barrels.
He would enlist himself in the Flight Academy where he graduated not without much trouble. He was reported to steal spear parts to make small self-designed prototypes, sometimes managing to create small scale drones and electrical automated bypasses, one of which got the attention of his superior Lieutenant Kyleen Ashe. Under her observation he would go on to lead, during his period as an imperial soldier, a small team of pilots, which eventually made several scientific discoveries regarding the uses of Kolom particles in telecommunications; a technology he would keep half-secret.
Kyleen and him would come to be friends, Daego eventually becoming her wingman -which was, and still is, a fancy term to refer to a pilot's second hand or "pair"- and would go on to participate along her side in multiple escorts and pirate raids in nearby worlds.
By the Great Schism, Daego had already formed ties with the high command of the empire's garrison at Yokka, including Local Troopmaster Alkain Mokhole, and would defect along with most of his squad during the Siege of Yaith. After contacting rebellion troops, he would share his discoveries, serving as decisive in several later battles.
He would go on to form part of his planet's rebellious forces, eventually coming to be imprisoned while leading an attack on empire facilities, an attack that would set the stage for a rebellious disembarquement and later capture of the planet, actions which would grant him a legendary status among rebellion troops.
