The Oath of Cleansing

The Voice sometimes calls out to the strong of will and dedicated of purpose, or calls upon those whose lives have been destroyed by supernatural forces and tells them to find the Harkeners of the Voice. When a wayward soul follows the call and comes before the Harkeners, they are asked what they were told by The Voice, and if the message coincides with the sacred text, they are trained to be a Paladin of the Voice.   Many people are hesitant to trust those who choose this path because they are sometimes seen as a follower of a cult. After all, every Paladin of the Voice claims that their god spoke directly to them, but no one else could hear it. Furthermore, many members of this order have no problem killing, torturing and purging outsiders, abominations, or Fey with impunity if they feel they are a threat to human communities.

Tenets of Faith

Listen. The Voice speaks to our leaders as it spoke to you. Have faith in your leaders, your orders, and above all have faith in The Voice.   Inquire. If you are ordered by the Voice or your leaders to investigate suspicious activity, leave no stone unturned and no person unquestioned.   Cleanse. Suffer not the outsider, the abomination, and the supernatural to control the lives of men. Purify those infected that you can first. Then destroy the threat, root and stem, by any means necessary. Mercy, sympathy, fear, and regret shall be silenced by The Voice.   Maintain. Should a brother or sister of the order fall under the influence of otherworldly or supernatural forces, purify them or cleanse them from the world.

"Suffer not the outsider, the abomination, and the supernatural to corrupt the hearts of men."

You can change the marked enemy after you kill it using a bonus action. If you attack a different enemy then your mark, finished the encounter or failed to change the mark to a different enemy, then you can’t use this ability till you take a short or a long rest.   Cleansing Shout As an action, you present your holy symbol and shout a prayer of denunciation, using your Channel Divinity. Choose one creature within 60 feet of you that you can see. That creature must make a Wisdom saving throw, unless it is immune to being frightened. Aberrations, Celestials, Fey, Fiends, Monstrosities, and Undead have disadvantage on this saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is frightened for 1 minute or until It takes any damage. While frightened, the creature’s speed is halved, and It can’t benefit from any bonus to its speed. On a successful save, the creature’s speed is halved for 1 minute or until the creature takes any damage.   Aura of Radiance Starting at 7th level, you constantly emanate an aura of radiance while you are not incapacitated. The aura extends 10 feet from you in every direction, but not through total cover. This aura is considered sunlight, with the following exceptions – This special form of sunlight does not cast visible light for the purposes of creatures’ vision or darkvision, though it does impose penalties on creatures with sensitives to sunlight. Unlike the ‘Sunlight’ spell, this sunlight does not dispel or otherwise ‘override’ supernatural or magical darkness, such as that produced by the ‘Darkness’ spell. Additionally, if the target of your ‘Channel Divinity: Mark of Cleansing’ starts its turn within the radius of your aura, it takes radiant damage equal to half of your paladin level.   At 18th level, the range of this effect increases to 30 feet.   Master Exorcist Starting at 15th level are immune to charm or possession effects. As an action you can remove the charm effect from another character by making the charmer roll a Charisma saving throw against your spell-save DC. If failed, the charm effect is removed, if successful, the charmed character remains charmed.   You may also exorcise a possessed creature by making the enemy roll a Wisdom saving throw against your spell-save DC. If the save is failed, the possessor takes 2d10 Psychic damage and leaves the possessed body, if succeeded, both you and the possessed character take 2d10 psychic damage and the possession does not end.   Mark of Purification Starting at 20th level you possess the ability to cover yourself with burning light for 1 minute, inflicting on every creature within 10 feet of you 4d10 radiant or fire damage on the first turn and 1d10 radiant or fire damage on every turn that the creature stays within the effect range. You gain immunity to Fire and Radiant damage.
