Hyli
In northern moors and mounts live the Hyli, a militant people with a history of conflict , both externally and internally. Be it in Hylimuyne, the Lowlands or Shieldmarch, the Hyli people have known more conflict and violence than any other human culture in the region. In eons past, some Hyli even served at the call of Dragons, and were expected to bring other cultures to heel for their overlords. Today, the Hyli maintain a strict tradition of readiness, despite being disarmed by the Sovereignty.

Shared customary codes and values
Hyli value the concepts of family and clan deeply. Patrilineage is seen as the most important bond.
Furthermore, a sense of martial honor pervades the culture, manifesting in a strange form of hospitality - the concept of "warsworn" soldiers permeates the clan system, in which a captured foe is expected to fight for his captors in exchange for his life or safety. This extends to the way Hyli view property and bonds outside the family unit. For example, marriage is seen as a similar concept; one family takes a member of another, and in exchange is required to assure their safety and well-being while that new member performs their expected duties.
Common Dress code
Hylish clothing is often dyed bright colors, and men's clothing contains shadows of martial elements, such as epaulets.
