The Coin

  Thamrysis is a continent in the northern hemisphere of The Coin, home to the Sovereignty – a collection of once disparate human nations united under imperial rule. While humans make up the bulk of the continent's population, there are other sentient species as well – The Syl, Myr, and Dwuerva the native peoples of the continent. The Wode, voyagers from across the western sea. The Cobbodonyr, remnants of the might of dragons in the world.   The Sovereignty is centered in the Weinland, a lush meadowland replete with rivers and groves, good soil, and a wealth of other natural resources. At its borders are the duchies and marches that separate the Empire from its vassal states, Such as Hylimunde and Haisan.   Caught up in bloody revolution, the once great and powerful nation of Onera has declared independence from the withering power of the Sovereignty, and stirrings in the west suggest that the grasp of Imperial power grows weak in the distant provinces.   Beyond the reach of the Sovereignty in the south are the Free Cities of the Silver Strand, which serve as a focal point of trade between the Sovereignty and the distant lands across the Eastern Sea. Caught up in petty disputes, the Free Cities only join together when an outside threat appears.   Beyond Haisan, across the southern sea, the Burning Shores and The Hammer reach out towards southern Thamrysis. The Arcane College of The Hammer sends its scholars northward seeking insight into the Great Mysteries, tracing their mystic inheritance to the First Cabal – the very wizards who discovered the base, teachable nature of magic for humanity. It is said they care more for discovery than they do for mortal safety.   Across the continent, strange fallout from meteor showers that plagued the hemisphere fifteen years ago brings potential wealth and power to those who dare seek and manipulate the mysterious Starstone left behind.
