The master of The Great Gyrrasha's household is usually a member of their immediate family, chosen by The Gyrrasha for their steadfast loyalty and administrative talents. Alternatively, the Gyrrasha may choose them to mark them as a preferred heir, giving them status and bargaining power in the succession.
Responsibilities
Officially, The Master of The Household is responsible only for managing daily life in The Gyrrasha's Palace, however, this -if used correctly- carries extensive political power. They organize the ordinary goings-on of The Great Gyrrasha, including who they meet with and -to an extent- what they know about the state of the kingdom.
History
From the founding of The Great Ubrashana, The Master Of The Household has been influential, but in the past 70 years, with each holder, that influence has grown. This steady rise in power eventually came to a head six years ago when the then-current holder of the position attempted a coup and tried to assassinate The Gyrrasha. This plot failed, and The Master Of The Household was executed. Yet this did not diminish the power of the position, as swiftly thereafter, another assumed the role after having led the effort against their predecessor and adopted the same operations.
