The Final Words

The Final Words is a famous message from the gods themselves to their children. No mortal has ever heard it personally and the demigods rarely speak of it to mortals. The message outlines what the demigods’ role in the Churning World was meant to be and why the Churning World was made and why it is so important. It resides within the hidden realm of the demigods and sits at the heart of their hidden city as a monument that all religiously significant rituals the demigods undergo are done.
The message is inscribed upon a large, pyramid-shaped stone that stands roughly forty feet tall and is written in the gods’ language. At the base is a three fingered hand-print that reacts to being touched by a god-hand that will play an audible version of it spoken in the voice of one of the male gods, though who the speaker is has been hotly debated for as long as the Churning World has existed.
The message, in broad strokes, says the following:
1. That the Churning World was created as a last effort to save the people of the now dead worlds.
2. That the gods could not stay behind with their creation because they are working on alternatives.
3. That the demigods are to be shepherds for the residents of the Churning World and both keep them safe and prevent them from destroying one another.
4. That the gods believed being partially born of the residents of the Churning World would make them more empathetic toward their plight than leaving a god behind may have.
5. That the gods do not intend for the Churning World to be a permanent solution, and that one day they will return to free everyone from the Churning World so they might live on natural planets again.
Every demigod is made to listen to these words as a child and then again upon completing the Rite of Divinity. It represents their only connection to their divine parents and is the most religiously important construct in the entirety of the Churning World.
