Halls of Honor

Purpose / Function

The hall was first created by the Kingdom of Van Carno to remember the Knights that have fallen in the line of duty so their sacrfice would never be forgotten by time.

Alterations

At first the originally; design was simple and humble with the armor of the knight out on display, often with shown battle damage the day they died to show the horrors of what battle was really like for them along with a plaque under it with their name. But as time went by and the armor began to pile is was removed and replaced with and a family sigil instead. The building was also redecorated to be a more extravagant as a dull area did not seem to fit their sacrifice. With marble and paintings depicting the knights in glorious defending the dominions against its enemies. Their main weapon was put on display as well since most became obsolete as time went on. But as the technology became more and more advanced, holograms were used instead with public being able to see their roles in the line of duty and some backstory to them as well. Some security systems were also installed due to some visitor trying the vandalize the halls a forms of anti-war sentiment or protest with some believing that of divisions of the Kingdom of Van Carno's military should have more attention even though memorials are given to the common soldiery.

Architecture

The halls are mostly made of mable will tapestry and cloth for decoration, the halls also change over time to present what era the nights came in and what conflict they were in. Sheilds with family crests are displayed to represent each family who lost a loved one wether that bloodline still exists or not.

History

By the time the Dragon War ended, the The Pheonixian Dominions had suffered terriable loss, most notably from the knight from the Kingdom of Van Carno how often sacrificed themselves in order to slay their dragon enemies. Which gain much respect from the rest of the dominions and many citizens of Van Carno. A memorial would be built in their honor of their sacrifice. As time and time again knights proved themselves as their honor to defend their people was greater then their lives and the memorial grew and grew theses knights were given the respect that they deserved. It has some what become a pilgrimage as well for knight as well to pay respect to those who came before after they have been knighted. It is also a place for the decedents of those knights to pay respect to them as well.

Everyday the Knights of the kingdom arrive every year to honor the sacrifice every year with incense and the warrior’s heart, a flower that represents warriors to the fallen. All raise their weapons in salute and give out a battle cry that echos throughout and with that cry say “ death before dishonor” so that the dead will know that their sacrifice was not in vein and a solemn oath to themselves if the time come they will put their lives on the line.
