Early Life

Princess and second heir to the Candy Empire, Candy Pop has had a happy and decadent childhood, with boundless love and affection supplied by everyone around her, though none as much as her parents and sister. As a princess however, it was the expectation of her that she carry herself in a royal fashion, wearing dresses and attending formal banquets, representing the youthful face of the Empire's future, and herald for all things sweet. Unfortunately, even from a very young age, Candy showed no interest in royalty, dresses, or sweets.
Outspoken for her disdain of sweets, Candy much preferred spicy food over the sweet treats she was drowned in on a daily basis. She also held no interest in politics or becoming the future Queen, and would spend her days tinkering with various gadgets in pursuit of her dream to become galactic-class engineer, though her exploits would rarely result in much more than a fiery plume of destruction in the garage her parents bought for her. Despite Candy's brash and rebellious demeanor, her parents were always supportive of her endeavors, and saw great potential in her creativity, and ultimately decided to allow her to pursue her dream to the fullest. King Cain and Queen Sugar deliberated for a long time on which school would be most suitable for their youngest daughter, before choosing to enroll in a school off-planet. The institution they chose was Star Seasons Academy, a bipartisan school managed by famous retired heroes from throughout the galaxy.

Academy Life: First Year

Upon arriving at the Academy, Candy was immediately met with hardships. On the first day of school, all freshmen are given an assessment in which students compete between each other and are organized by their skill level and talents. Due to her reckless behavior and needless endangerment of her classmates, Candy was given last place among all students, and subsequently assigned classes that reflected this. In these classes, Candy became fast friends with the students who were ranked second and third lowest behind her: Suzie of planet Marchen, whose clumsiness kept her from accomplishing much of anything during the assessment, and Serenity of planet Dahlia, who was barely able to defend herself in practice combat, due to her unwillingness to harm others.   Unbeknownst to the three girls, at the very same time, two of their upperclassmen were plotting to overthrow the entire school, and drain the strength of all the students and members of staff in order to make themselves strong enough to achieve their own personal goals. The two responsible were brother and sister pair Illias and Fortuna, who began to systematically kidnap teachers and students alike, prioritizing the strongest among them, in order to minimize the risk of their plot being thwarted. Despite several close calls, Illias and Fortuna successfully captured all members of staff of the school, and virtually all the students, with only three freshmen left to capture in order for their siege to be complete: Candy, Suzie, and Serenity.   In actuality, the three freshmen were able to plan and move in such a way to keep themselves safe while they tried to discern who was responsible for all the mass disappearances. Thanks to the help of some fellow students, they were able to survive long enough to learn who the culprits were, but were too late to save any of their fellow students or teachers. With no hope of rescue and no other option, they decided the only chance they had was to defeat the two insurgent students.   Although they knew they stood next to no chance, Candy, Serenity, and Suzie gave everything they had to fight their upper classmen, barely managing to survive, before finally being driven into a corner. Just as Fortuna was about to deliver the finishing blow to Candy, Serenity threw herself in front of the attack, taking the full force of the attack and saving Candy's life. Serenity fell unconscious in Candy's arms, but not before telling her that even if no one else believed Candy could do it, she was willing to bet her life that Candy would find a way out of this.   The rage and sorrow Candy felt at this very moment unlocked something deep within her, a force that not even her parents were aware of. Candy was one of a select few individuals every generation to inherit the blood of a God in her veins. With vengeance in her heart, Candy had unlocked the powers of a Demigod, and immediately used these powers to avenge her friend. Candy attacked Fortuna at once, who used her strongest defenses to hold her off, but nothing she tried could hold her back, and Candy inevitably tore a hole right through Fortuna's stomach, leaving her in a bloodied heap on the floor.   Upon seeing his sister brutally incapacitated, Illias immediately surrendered, freeing the teachers which he had captured and begging for one of them to save his life. After healing all the injured students, the teachers immediately took both Illias and Fortuna into custody, while the headmistress herself issued a formal thanks to Candy and her friends for their strength and bravery, as well as a public apology, both for the sake of her school, and her two adopted children which caused this mess in the first place.   When members of staff held a meeting to discuss what should become of Illias and Fortuna, many thought they should both be expelled, imprisoned, or worse, especially given who their genetic parents were. Before the staff could reach a decision however, Candy broke into the room, demanding that they give Illias and his sister a second chance, after seeing for herself how much they cared for each other, and determined for herself that neither of them were 'really evil'.   Despite several objections to letting a fledgling student determine the future of the entire school, the general consensus was that since Candy did save the Academy, they should give her opinion some amount of weight. After respectfully kicking Candy out of the room, the staff eventually came to the conclusion that both Illias and Fortuna would be allowed to continue their studies at the Academy, but would have their powers restricted for the rest of their tuition there.   After proving her engineering abilities further, Candy also received a gift from her idol, and Engineering teacher for all of Star Seasons: Maccina of planet Vinnar. As thanks for saving her and the rest of the teachers from Illias and Fortuna, as well as a means of motivating Candy to become a great engineer, Maccina gave her a hand crafted wrench, which Candy prizes to this day.
